Fot the horror movie fans. This is somthing to look forward to. When The Nightmare f Elm Street vs Friday The 13th. And no, dont get all consufed with the other

Release Date: 2000, date to be announced (TBA). It's worth noting that dates for this film have been bandied about for a few years now, with it always seeming about six months ahead of time. October, 1999 is the date most recently mentioned "out there". New Line Cinema recently unveiled their 1999 schedule, and this movie wasn't anywhere to be seen, so I think it's safe to say that if it gets made, it wouldn't be earlier than sometime in 2000.

MPAA Rating: Most likely an R for assorted gore, violence, and fright.

Distributor: New Line Cinema

Cast: Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees)

Director: Rob Bottin (helming debut, he was one of the special effects guys for over 25 movies, including Deep Rising, John Carpenter's The Thing, and The Howling)

Screenwriter: Rob Bottin (screenwriting debut) Bottin's script will be the fifth considered by New Line for this movie.

Screenwriter Note: Comic book fans... James (Starman/Justice Society of America) Robinson's script is apparently not going to be used.

Based upon: This movie combines the stars of two of the longest-running horror franchises: Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th). This is the 8th and 10th movie, respectively, of each of those series.

Premise: Freddy and Jason face off for control of Hell. At this point, much more detail than that appears to be mostly conjecture and rumor.

Filming Rumors: There have been reports/rumors out on the net recently (4/99) that filming for this film has begun in Canada. This has not been confirmed by New Line Cinema.
