6.7/10
She's All That
I thought this one was different but it's just the
same ol teen flick. Nothing amazing about the storyline, a recycled storyline
where, a girl geek must be transformed into a prom queen by the coolest
guy in school.. it's a bet thing. Rachael was beautiful.. i really think
she's cute... hope more of her in future movies. The teen casting were
all great, but the storyline was too typical that it actually sucks. Anyway,
the dancing scenes at the prom nite, was well synchronised eh? HIndi genre
in it??
6.7/10 Entrapment
The movie could have been better, that's what i think
when I came out of the cinema. I could have bought a VCD, but looking at
KLCC, the world tallest building(untill end of this year only there is)
on big screen was something to be a proud of. The plot has its own twist
from the very beginning till the end. Catherine was really good as a thief
and a seducer not to mentioned and she's someone you could bring in your
wet dreams.. haha then Sean Connery with his James Bond style and charismatic.
The script was sometimes funny. And don't get ur self confused.. the first
stealing scene is Chaterine not Sean Connery. Spoilers huh? Acton wise,
it gets boring towards the end. If the scripts are polished, this can be
such a classic. One more thing, I always get annoyed if dialoques are repeated.
He had mentioned before that if he's not punctual means he's dead? Then,
why stressed it again at the ending scene? It will lose its touch. For
Malaysian viewers, this one can be meaningful if you live in Malacca..
KLCC kat malacca siuts ha ha.
8.6/10 The
Matrix
I heard reviews in the newspaper praising this movie
and on he other hand my best bud told me this movie sucks. So, I was not
that eager to watch this intelligent-action flick. Finally I watched it
and.. wo.. this movie kick-ass! I guess my bud didn't really get what matrix
is all about, and matrix can be different to each other opinions, it's
how you relate the matrix to our daily live..or yet our knowledge, This
movie is actually a very meaningful yet symbolic, each scenes, the virtual
life.. the matrix depicted something we can actually relate to us. You
have to watch them to really understand it. It's about finding the one
and searching for the one.. and to make realise the one is the one. I like
this kinda movie... Star Wars has its Jedi knights as the ones.. and in
The Matrix, Neo(keanu) has to fight the evil programmers/programme (virus
as in computer terms) which is the agents. hmmm.. i think i'll have to
leave out the plot, cause it'll be such spoilers. Ofcourse, the visual
effects are nothing that unusual, but with action, movements, holo- motion
plus the effects.. where can you get that in a movie? So, after all it
is something new.. and fresh.. The one thing that I find it a little disapointment(which
is not considered a flaw) is the martial art should not be named kung-fu,
as it will only make us(the asian) comparing it to the hong kong movies..
which ofcourse make the american look inferior... the martial should be
named something else. new terms, maybe.. and the scene where Morphiuse
where trapped and hold by the agents, he looked damn miserable as if he
loses all his confidence and hope... after all he's so sure that Neo is
the one.. and also Morphius is 'the one' to find the truth out of Neo.
Then why make him looked that horibble in those scene?I think Morpius should
be calm in the scene though after being beaten vigourously. anyway.. that
doesn't affect the movie at all.
The characters are all well developed, If there is gonna be a sequel to
this one(still unconfirmed), then Trinity character should be develop more..
as we can actually see, she fought real good starting from the beggining..
then her movements when avoiding the bullets or any hits towards her was
exactly the same when Neo encountered the agents after he has truly know
who he actually is(where he raises his hands and all the bullets stay static.
So, maybe Joel silver should develop the connections between them, other
than the love connection. This one shall be in my top 105 movies of all
time.
The Mummy 7.0/10
